How was your July? Mine has gone by so fast! I’ve been swamped with work and have neglected this blog quite a bit. But, I’m currently on a 3-day leave from work and I’m hoping to catch up on some long overdue blog posts.
I must admit that I don’t have an interesting roster of products for my July favorites. I hardly wore any makeup this past month which is unusual for me but a welcome change nonetheless. I will definitely be going back to my makeup wearing tendencies because I missed applying my makeup every morning for work!
As you can see, this July’s list of favorites is dominated by lip products. In July, I’ve foregone my usual foundation or face base routine and went most days with a bare face. But, being the lip junkie that I am, I still needed to slap on some color onto my lips!
Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum – I don’t have enough words to describe how much I love Revlon Lip Butters! They’re so moisturizing, wearable and so easy to slap on! Sugar Plum is a particular shade that I’ve been wearing most in July. It’s a great plum-y color that applies on with such a lovely tint!
Revlon Colorstay Matte Balm in Sultry – I am not one to grab for a matte lip color. I find most matte lip products to be drying on the lips and if there’s one thing I hate in this world, it’s having dry lips! Surprisingly, this matte balm from Revlon did not dry out my lips. It’s color is also very pigmented and it stays on my lips for a long time.
Korres Lip Butter in Quince – This, hands down, is my favorite lip butter/balm! It’s super moisturizing and so, uhm, yummy! It has a nice tint as well that you could get away with just wearing this product alone.
Swatches from top to bottom: Korres Lip Butter in Quince, Revlon Colorstay Matte Balm in Sultry and Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum.
For my skin, I’ve been obsessed with skincare and clearing out my blemished skin! This July, I’ve simply relied on two products to make my face look decent even without the full coverage makeup.
Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack – This product is a skin renewal sleeping pack that exfoliates and moisturizes the skin. It removes dead skin cells leaving the skin smoother and clearer. This product is made for all skin types. It works well on my oily skin. I use it atleast twice a week as my evening moisturizer and I seriously wake up the next day with better looking skin!
Catrice Camouflage Cream – This concealer is a tad bit light for my skin tone but I love it for covering up my dark under eye circles! I love its creamy consistency and I love how it instantly brightens up my under eye area! I also don’t find it to be cakey even if I set it with some loose powder.
For my nails, I’ve been loving this nice nail color from Essie called Maximillian Strasse-Her. I’ve had this color for quite some time but it wasn’t until I saw Lily Pebbles rave about this color that I started wearing it again! It’s a beautiful nudish green-gray color (if that makes sense) that would look good on just about anyone!
Hope you had a lovely July and an even lovelier August!
