I don’t know about you but I’m so glad that September is over! This past month has been such a hard one on me work-wise that I couldn’t be happier that it’s over! I hope September treated you guys better!
Just a warning before I get this post out of the way. I didn’t have a lot of beauty favorites from the past month. I guess I didn’t try a lot of new beauty bits in the past month or if I did try something new, I didn’t probably like them enough to put them in a favorites blog post.
Let’s get on with my favorites, shall we?
Pixy UV Whitening Two Way Cake Powder
I’ve had this product for quite a while ever since I got a Pixy-exclusive BDJ Box a few months back. I remember getting a couple of full-sized compact powders and a refill in that box. I gave one of the compact powders to my sister and she told me that she loves this powder a lot. She even told me that she likes the Pixy one better than her Maybelline powder which I know she’s been using for years now. When I first tried this powder, I realized why my sister and a host of other beauty bloggers like it! It has really great light to medium coverage which is buildable depending on how much you need to apply. I find that it works great on my oily skin as well and it isn’t cakey at all! Love this powder!
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion
I love plum colored lip products! I think they look flattering on girls with dark skin like me. I’ve been loving the color Parisian Passion from Revlon’s new range of Colorstay Moisture Stain lip products. This lip product actually has a gloss type formula which stays glossy on the lips for a good 3 to 4 hours I’d say. But, once the gloss has disappeared, it leaves a nice stain to the lips which I love! I also love its plum color which I find very wearable on any day.
Too Cool For School Dino Platz Eyeshadow on Flatiron
I seriously don’t know why Too Cool For School named this product Dino Platz Eyeshadow on Flatiron! Despite this product’s ridiculously weird name, it’s still an awesome product! What this product actually is is a liquid eyeshadow that claims to be smudge and budge proof!
The color that I got is called Bronze but it looks more like a light champagne color to me. It’s a great one-wash eyeshadow color on the lids and I prefer this to the Maybelline 2 Hour Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. This product stays on much better and longer on my oily eyelids than Bad to the Bronze!
Happy Skin Get Cheeky With Me Blush in First Kiss
Happy Skin is my favorite local brand! In fact, I haven’t tried anything from this brand that I didn’t love! I love their blush in First Kiss because it’s such a lovely pink color that gives a natural flush on the cheeks! I imagine that this color would look great on all skin tones!
Stila Convertible Color in Poppy
Poppy could get a bit intimidating when you first look at it. I mean, who would go for a deep red cream blush? Well, this blush is quite pigmented and it does come out really red when swatched. But I only use a small amount of this to apply on my cheeks and the outcome is quite flattering. It’s very blendable and I use my fingers most of the time to apply it. It’s also very buildable so if you’re one to wear red blush, this one’s for you! This product may also be applied on the lips but I prefer to use it as a blush.
L’oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil
I have really dry, unmanageable hair and I depend on leave-on hair creams or oils to try to tame it. I received the L’oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil in my August BDJ Box and I have been loving it ever since! Despite it being an oil, I don’t find too greasy. Usually when I apply a leave-on cream or oil on my hair, it gets weird shampooing my hair the next day because the shampoo wouldn’t create bubble-y lather. But with this product, I don’t find it to be the case. Like I said, it isn’t greasy at all and it does a good job of keeping my hair in place and soft throughout the day.
That does it for my September Beauty Favorites! I hope you had a better September than me! May October bring stress-free and exciting experiences for all of us!
