Eyeshadows – oh my gosh, where do I even begin?! I use them on myself a lot and I use them when I do other people’s makeup. I just love, love, love eyeshadows! And I love them even more when they come in nice, travel friendly palettes!
The eyeshadow palette that I am currently in love with is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows Palette in Flawless.
This palette contains a bunch of neutral eyeshadows – as if I need more of those neutrals! Haha.
Aside from the neutrals, this palette also has a few bold colors such as a dark blue, a cranberry red and a shimmery olive green! There’s a mix of matte and shimmery eyeshadows in this palette although there are more shimmery ones than matte ones. The consistency of these eyeshadows are incredibly smooth which makes them very easy to apply. However, I find these eyeshadows to be a bit powdery so some fallout is always bound to happen. The color payoff is amazing for the shimmery colors but I find the matte ones to be a bit of a hit and miss in the pigmentation department.
The palette contains 32 colors (4 rows with 8 colors on each row). The packaging is pretty sleek and compact considering the number of eyeshadows in it. I love that it comes with a big mirror which makes it great for travelling. I think with the amount and the quality of eyeshadows that you get in this palette, it’s a great value for money considering it’s very affordable. It’s 8 Pounds in the UK but I got mine from an online re-seller for around 600 Pesos.
Here are swatches of the eyeshadows from top to bottom rows.
L to R: Paper, Soft Glow, Buff, Highlite, Angel, Unlimited, Brew and Silver Smoke
L to R: Almost There, Uncover, Barely Pink, Lowlite, Golden Night, Gold Digger, Cheerless and Blue Stars
L to R: Smudge, Shimmer Heart, Universal, Copper Shimmer, Medal, Darkest Shimmer, Tarnish and Black Tie
L to R: Pure Chocolate, Raw, Red Night, Molton Chocolate, Burgandy Nights, Greenstars, Cafe Noir and Night
Some of the reviews that I’ve read online said that the Makeup Revolution palette is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I only have the Naked 2 palette to compare it to but I can definitely see some great dupes in the Makeup Revolution palette. The shade Gold Digger is very similar to Half-Baked while the shade Cheerless is very similar to Busted.
I’m pretty sure that this palette would come in handy during the holidays especially with all the parties that I’ll be attending. I’m also excited to use this palette for when I do freelance makeup for which I have a few lined up this Christmas season!
I hope to share some looks with this palette soon! Happy Holidays!
