January 2015 Favorites!

Hello!

I can’t believe that January has gone by so quickly! Looking back, I don’t think I can remember what I have been up to in January aside from work! My life has been pretty mundane this past month, I know.

But enough of the silly chit-chat and let’s get into my January favorites! Like my comings and goings in January, my favorites are pretty much boring as well. Ha! Nevertheless, I’d love to share my favorites with you!

Before 2014 ended, I did a haul of some drugstore products that I haven’t tried but have been raved about by the beauty blogging community. One of the products that got was the L’Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation. When I first tried it, I instantly fell in love with it! It’s a light-weight foundation but the coverage is amazing! Because it’s formula is very light-weight and the finish is so natural, it’s great for everyday use! It seems to get along well with my oily skin as well! Definitely a winner in my beauty books!

A product that has always been on my beauty wishlist is the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural powder. I finally got it as a belated Christmas gift to myself and I can truly say that my money didn’t go to waste! It’s such a natural looking powder that looks as if you are not wearing any! The coverage is definitely there, don’t get me wrong, but it’s so light-weight and it doesn’t cake throughout the day!

As for concealer, you know that I love my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and consider it as my holy grail concealer! However, it’s sold out everywhere! So, I browsed the drugstore to find an alternative while my beloved MPLC is out of stock. I’ve been using the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal High Definition Concealer for a few weeks now and while it is no MPLC, it does a good job of concealing my dark undereyes and blemishes. The coverage and consistency of this concealer is really good. The only downside to this is that it is not long-lasting.

Oh MAC Patisserie, why have I not given you any special attention before? You’re such a pretty, wearable color! Haha. Patisserie is a pinkish nude color that I think would work well on a lot of skintones. It’s a Lustre so it is not as long lasting. But it’s such a great everyday, no-brainer lip color that you can toss in your makeup kit for any occasion.

I sometimes like to top off Patisserie with the NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee.Β The NYX Butter Gloss smells divine and feels so smooth on the lips! I’d love to try out more colors of this! Recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

Rucy’s Vanity is a fairly new Korean brand in the Philippines that is slowly gaining some attention. Their products are incredibly affordable and they have a good range of products as well! They have makeup, skincare and nail polishes! My favorite product from their makeup range is the Rucy’s Vanity Auto Eyebrow Pencil in Brown. First off, this product is so affordable at Php 70! I also love that this comes in a retractable pencil because I hate sharpening pencils! But more than the packaging and affordability, this eyebrow pencil rocks! The color is perfect for girls with black hair like me and the nib of the pencil is just the perfect size for filling in the eyebrows!

I freakin’ love this show! I’ve loved Rachel Bilson since The O.C. and I have been following her career since then! She’s my favorite Hollywood actress and I think that her style is flawless! I love how the plot of the show’s 4th season wrote in Rachel’s real-life pregnancy! I can’t wait to see how the relationship between Rachel’s character Zoe and her baby daddy Wade will blossom this season! Oh, and I am seriously praying hard that this show won’t be cancelled!

I hope your January was not as uneventful as mine and I wish your February will be awesome!

Xoxo!
