I’ve always been a blush lover ever since I started getting into makeup. There was even a time when I had a mad phase of collecting blushes! These days however, I’ve reached a point where I’m quite happy with my blush stash. I feel like blush shouldn’t be complicated. You don’t need to own every blush color in the world because believe me, not every color will suit your skin tone.
Looking at my stash, I realized that I have quite a lot of blushes that are suitable for any skin tone. I do freelance makeup so I tend to go for colors that are more versatile and would basically look good on any skin tone.
Let me run you through the blushes from my stash that are very versatile. Keep reading on; you might see something that you’ll fancy!
Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette
This is the most recent addition to my blush collection. I got it mostly because of the coral tones of the blushes in it. I feel like a blush with a coral tone to it will suit most skin tones. These ZOEVA blushes are just divine! The colors pack quite a punch in the pigmentation department. They are also very blendable and very long-lasting even on my oily skin. This palette is so good that I swear I can be happy for the rest of my life with just these 4 colors!
Covergirl Instant Cheekbones Trio in Sophisticated Sable
Covergirl blushes are so underrated. Trust me, they are good! This trio in Sophisticated Sable is my favorite from the brand as the colors are very wearable. The colors are more on the mauve-y side which I think is also a versatile shade for blush. The colors have tiny specks of shimmer in them but they are not over-the-top shimmery.
Pink Sugar Sweet Cheeks HD Cheek Color in Miss Independent
I’m really impressed with this Pink Sugar blush! The shade Miss Independent is a deep coral shade with a matte finish. This blush is really opaque and translates true to color on the cheeks – so apply it with a light hand. Even though it is matte, I find that this does not apply patchy on the cheeks which some matte blushes tend to do. I also love this blush because of its long-lasting formula; I find that I don’t need to re-apply it throughout the day.
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Never Been Kissed
Another matte blush formula that I love is the one from Colourpop. The texture of Colourpop cheek and eye products are out of this world! They are in powder form but they are very smooth, creamy and blendable! The shade Never Been Kissed is a deep berry shade which would look great on any skin tone, however, it would look amazing on darker skin!
