How have you all been? April has been pretty hectic for me, hence the lack of blog posts. It’s just hard juggling a blog and a corporate job, you know. But blogging is my passion that’s why I’ll always go back to it! I know I’m not the only one going through this and I’d appreciate any tips from fellow bloggers who also keeps an 8 to 5 job and runs a blog at the same time.
April has been such a great month for me in terms of trying out new beauty items! Trust me, I did a few hauls in April of some products I’ve never tried before and while some were duds, I found some items which are quickly reaching holy grail status!
NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in Cuzco Medium 1.5
Picked this base up in the middle of April and I have been using it since then! I remember falling in love with it in the store when the beauty consultant at NARS applied it on my face. It has a medium coverage which can be built up to a fuller coverage. It has a matte finish and it feels light and looks very natural on the face. My face still gets oily whenever I use this but I only find the need to blot at the 4-hour mark which in my case is already a good thing
Becca Cosmetics Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation in Bamboo
I have been using this base alternately with the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint. Where the NARS one is more of a tinted moisturizer, this BECCA one is a foundation. Like the NARS one, this one feels light and looks very natural on the face as well. However, this foundation has a better coverage even on the first layer of application. I reviewed this foundation and you can check it out for more details on why I love it here.
Pink Sugar Sweet Cheeks HD Color in Miss Independent
If you’ve read my post on my versatile blush picks, you’d know that I highly rate this blush! It’s such a great summer color! It’s very pigmented and very long-lasting even on my oily skin!
Benefit Hide and Sheen – Boi-ing Concealer in Medium
This little compact by Benefit has quickly become a favorite of mine because of the Boi-ing Concealer. I have been using this concealer under my eyes and on some dark spots and it works really well! It’s quite heavy duty in the coverage department but it’s not cakey at all! It’s quite easy to apply as well given that it’s very smooth and creamy.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
This mascara makes my eyelashes look so long and voluminous! Enough said.
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara
I mistakenly got the black brown color of this mascara instead of the black one. At first I didn’t like it – the color looks more brown and I felt like that didn’t do anything for my lashes. However, I decided to give it another shot and I ended up actually LOVING it! After a few coats of this mascara on my lashes, the result is actually quite full and voluminous. However, since its color is brown, it looks very natural and fluttery!
Pixi by Petra Glow Mud Mask and Overnight Glow Serum
A combination of these two products is just magic! They have made such a tremendous difference on my skin and I can see myself reaching for these products for a very long time! Check out my detailed review of these products here.
Hope you have a very memorable and meaningful May!
